Let’s Talk about Stranger Things 2

It seems my choices on what to review and not review are a bit sporadic. I waited patiently for both of the Stephen King movies this year, yet reviewed none of them. Why must Stephen King come up every time we talk about Stranger Things? I suppose a combination of subtle and not so subtle references throughout both seasons.

So, you can probably guess whether or not I like something depending on whether or not I spoil it. Haha. In the case of Stranger Things 2, I’ll try to be as spoil-free as possible, because really, it’s worth a watch.

If you haven’t seen Stranger Things season 1… Start there.

I’m gonna start of by saying that while all the kids play their parts well, Mille Bobby Brown (as “Eleven”) was nothing short of phenomenal.  (This is not a spoiler. Come on, we all knew Eleven was gonna come back.)

As the critics say, “Brown’s ability to summon emotion is as impressive as her character’s ability to walk between worlds.” I wholeheartedly agree.

Stranger Things 2 was a perfect second season, bringing back all the things we loved from season 1 with just enough newness to keep things interesting. There are several new characters, and a few old characters that went through transformations to take on a different role in the course that Stranger Things takes.

In Stranger Things 2, our favourite characters embark on a fantastical journey of friendship, adventure, maniacal bullies & demonic beings from the upside down.

The season takes a much darker turn than its predecessor, taking viewers on a suspenseful and at times emotional ride, through to an exciting and fulfilling finale.

Final Rating: 9.5/10

Pros: Honestly, the entire season was amazing. Fantastic actors and the perfect mix of horror, humour, suspense, and drama.

Cons: Mike was really annoying in this season.
